Working in consultation with the Central Board of Experts (CBE), we have made a number of amendments to the IKB Kip certification scheme. The amendments concern a number of topics. Certain amendments have been made in order to comply with amended legislation and regulations regarding biosecurity. This newsletter contains further information.
The IKB Board of Directors adopted the amendments on 21 November 2025. These amendments will come into effect on 1 March 2026. Please review the amendments and the latest version of the certification scheme carefully. The changes can be important to your business operations and as a IKB Kip participant you are obliged to comply with them from 1 March. Not every amendment will apply to your circumstances. The amendments are described per document and the title of the section indicates whether a specific type of company is concerned.
Annex 1.2: IKB KIP regulations for poultry farms
For all poultry farms (1.2A):
- Regulation C14 specifies more clearly in the interpretation that the barn inspection after a Salmonella infection also falls under the Salmonella inspections.
- Regulation F17 has been clarified in terms of content by adding chemical and bacteriological analysis to one chemical or one bacteriological parameter in the regulation. The aim of this addition is to indicate which parameters the institutions should have in their scope for which tests.
- Regulation F18: There are differences between the chemical standards stated in IKB Ei and IKB Kip. These standards in IKB Ei and IKB Kip will be harmonised.
- Regulation G13 is a new regulation and has been added to specify cleaning performed by the farmer more clearly. It introduces an obligation for participants who clean the barns themselves to communicate in advance when and how this is done using a ‘Cleaning‘ form. A template of the form will be provided shortly and will be posted on the website. In due course, the form can be completed via MijnAvined.
- Regulation H06: From 1 January 2026, poultry farmers are under a statutory obligation to establish a biosecurity plan together with their veterinarian. IKB Kip regulations will also comply with this obligation. The interpretation of this regulation has been amended to state that from 1 January 2026 the biosecurity plan (based on the hygiene scan) must be integrated into the farm health plan. Clear reference is also made to the corresponding annex and regulations.
- Regulation J20: From 1 January 2026, poultry farmers must establish a biosecurity plan together with their veterinarian. This hygiene scan is used to assess and analyse biosecurity. An addition has been made to this regulation stating that the result of the hygiene scan must be included in the farm health plan. Clear reference is also made to the corresponding annex and regulations.
- Regulation J33: The wording ‘offering privacy‘ has been specified in more detail. This means the door must be lockable and it is not possible to see into the shower area.
- The following has been added to J35 in the interpretation: Farm-specific clothing must be clean and of non-transparent fabric.
Broiler farms (1.2D):
In VA05, ‘access to loose, dry bedding’ is added as requirements to the floor.
Annex 10 Description of sampling and exemption applications
Article 8 paragraph 4: Several courses on loading poultry are now offered and approved, this has been amended in paragraph 4.
Annex 11: Farm health and treatment plan for poultry farms template
The farm health plan template has been amended in response to the new biosecurity plan regulation. The farm health plan now also offers space for the analysis of the completed hygiene scan.
We will add the latest version of the IKB Kip General Terms and Conditions and annexes to www.ikbkip.nl (under Certification scheme). All the amendments are also ‘visible’ in the documents on our website.
