The implementation decree Covid-19 and avian influenza has been repealed. This implementation decree was adopted on 28 January 2022 due to the outbreak of avian influenza occurring at the time and the associated legal measures. This implementation decree was originally adopted in 2022 in response to the corona pandemic.
The corona pandemic was a new situation and one of the important points in the (legal) control of Covid-19 was restricting contact between people. A spearhead of the implementation decree at the time was that it enabled remote inspection so the participant and the inspector did not come into contact with each other. In the meantime, this option has been incorporated into the IKB system. Where necessary, it is still possible that no actual barn visit takes place for the IKB inspection. In these cases, the barn is inspected using a video link. The remainder of the inspection is usually performed in the farmhouse or at the IKB participant’s office. As these aspects have been incorporated into the IKB system and the corona pandemic has been over for some time, the decision has been made to repeal the implementation decree.
Unfortunately, avian influenza is still a threat to the sector. We therefore urge you to remain alert and comply with biosecurity measures. These include:
- hygiene on your farm (10 tips for good biosecurity);
- avoid unnecessary barn visits and ensure that visitors can comply with the hygiene protocol (including showers);
- pay close attention to the cleanliness of vehicles and material that arrive at your farm.
