Please note: from 1 July 2028, all IKB poultry farms must have and use a walk-through shower in the hygiene lock. From this date, visitors are no longer permitted to use showers that do not comply with the walk-through principle (for example, a shower with only one door that is entered or exited on the same side or a shower located in a house). An exception applies to catching and loading teams. The poultry farmer decides whether a catching and loading team should shower or follow a stricter protocol for changing clothing.
If you have not installed a walk-through shower in the hygiene lock yet, you still have three years to ensure compliance. Poultry farms without a walk-through shower from 1 July 2028 risk suspension. More information about showers will be sent in a subsequent newsletter.
