IKB Kip: The importance of showering

6 juli 2023

IKB Kip attaches great importance to hygiene and biosecurity. Having visitors shower prior to entering the barn is an important part of this. Thorough showering washes germs away. Wearing company/barn clothing and footwear afterwards limits the risks posed by a company visit. This allows you to work together to prevent the introduction of pathogens.

Every IKB Kip participant currently has a shower on their premises. Showers in the home, for example, are currently still accepted. By 1 July 2028, a walk-through, compliant shower must be available on every farm site to allow for comfortable and safe showering. Please consider this requirement if you are building or renovating, and install a walk-through shower on the premises (if you don’t already have one). By taking these measures, you can work with your visitors to reduce the risk of pathogens, and remain compliant with IKB Kip.
